It was here in 1788 that Captain Arthur Phillip raised the British flag and declared Australia part of the British Empire. Walk the cobblestone lanes where convicts worked and established the colony. Visit the Garrison Church built from sandstone cut from the area. See the house site of Arthur Payne the first person to contract the bubonic plague in Sydney in 1900. Hear the bawdy tales of taverns, inns and pubs and the how men were shanghaied to work at sea. The area oozes charm with colonial and federation buildings. We can tailor our tours to suit your needs.
